I have been with DISH for a while now and the lack of new HD is really getting old. And now with the recent addition Direct has made with their HD, specifically the ability to get all 4 networks in HD(if allowed) has pushed them right on by Dish. As a Dish sub that can only get ABC HD via antenna, I am pretty sure I could get Fox HD and CBS HD via Direct due to distance. NBC here does not broadcast HD yet, not sure if they would give that one to me.

Why does Dish ONLY have CBS and it's on a wing sat at that? Dish needs to atleast step up and match Direct. There is no doubt after having HD for the past 9 months or so that I believe the leader in HD will crush the follower.

If Direct gets ESPN2 HD and Dish decides not to add the channel, I am gone. I actually should be gone now just knowing I could probably get Fox HD and CBS HD.

Step up to the plate Charlie.....

Of course, that is not Charlie's email address. Emails sent there are handled by executive officers.

Well its better than posting it on this board...there's nothing we can do about it. I know they actually read the email that goes to that address.

Well I am in a similar place except I've heard allot of negative about D* compressing HD to the point it's not really HD. Since I'm about to get my 1st HDTV (a 1080p set) PQ is most important. More poor channels is not helpful to me. It would be nice if some of those with direct experience with the two would comment on the quality differences between the two.

I find Dish's SD programming to be better than Direct's, but I don't see a huge difference in the HD programming on my Sony 42"
