I have read the owners manual, but still can't figure this out. I get a perfect signal from 2 local stations straight from my off air antenna to tv, but the 921 can't find the digital station via the digital scan. I confirmed with the stations to verify they were broadcasting digital as antennaweb.org stated, the confirmed that they were.

I figured I would try to add the stations manually and check the signal strength. The digital channels are 32.1 and 24.1 as published by antennaweb.org and the stations web site. It looks like the 921 is looking for me to input a two digit number. Even if it would allow more characters, how would I put in the "." ? These stations are added to my local channel package as 32 and 24 so when I put that in it does nothing? What am I missing here?

What type of antenna do you have. Is it VHF, UHF or a combination antenna? Sounds like you may be getting those good signals to your TV via a VHF antenna. Those stations you tried to lock onto have a UHF frequency assignment for their digital stations.

It is both. It is just a cheap bar antenna. I know I will need to buy a new antenna. I was just wondering how to check the signal strength by manually entering in the station ID. How would you check the signal strength of 24.1 when it is just looking for 2 digits and you have local programming going to 24 already?

You need to input the actual broadcast channel, not the PSIP remapped channel for the stations you want to add manually. For instance, CBS in Denver is shown on channel 4.1, but is being broadcast on channel 35. That information should be on antennaweb.

In your case 32.1 (ABC WGPA) is 32, and 24.1 (FOX WGXA) is channel 16.

Mark, My 921 was hooked up yesterday. I was struggling with the same issue as Lmurfud last night. I was only able to scan two DTV stations here in Longmont, and I wasn't sure how to do a manual entry. When I do (Menu 6.2 Point Dish) and select Off Air there is no signal (not locked) buy I could still receive 002-01? Do you know what the latest scoop is with the tower that was supposed to be built on Lookout Mtn.? I have allot of $ in equipment with no reception.
