I want to move the DirecTv dish off the pole along side the house and hide it behind the barn. There is already conduit underground - 3/4". I have a Tivo so I need two RG-6 from the barn to the multiswitch. The multiswitch then feeds the Tivo and a slave Hughes receiver in the bedroom. So here's my questions. There will need to be about 130' of cable between the multiswitch and the dish mounted behind the barn. Is this too far ? I am wondering about the switching aspect for the dual LNB with the voltage loss of that length of cable. At this length of cable run, will I need a booster to boost the voltage for proper switching at the LNB? IF so, does anyone know of a multiswitch with built in booster? If not, should the booster go between the Tivo and Multiswitch or between the Multiswitch and the dish?

Thanks for any and all help as I try to figure out this long cable run.

You might want to consider quad-shield RG-6 that has a solid copper center conductor. It's a bit more expensive (but not much) and has less voltage drop. I wired my entire house with it.
