I have a 3 month old Dishnetwork 811 High Definition receiver available. It comes in the original box with the manuals and remote.
It looks brand new and has no balance.
With the latest firmware update it works great. :-)
The wife wants to get an HD DVR so I'm selling this to get a 921.
I'm asking $200 or best offer for it. These things go new for $399.
You can now get the HD pack from Dish as an existing subscriber for $4.99 a month.
I can accept Paypal or Postal Money Orders.
Shipping/Insurance will be actual cost from 80003.
Email me if you are interested.

Thanks,
DJ Rob

I am an existing customer and even emailed ceo@ because I felt there was a deal. The only thing they offered was a lease instead of purchase. Bought one here for $150 instead

I just received 2 811's from Dish under there "Dish n it up " deal. You can get 2 receivers: You can choose an 811 or a 510. One of each, or both the same. I was charged $24.95 for shipping for BOTH receivers. I can exchange none, one or both, and for each one I send in I get a $25 CREDIT! THe HD pack is $5/month for 12 months. I am a existing customer and own my equipment. It is a real good deal!

Noritsu,

I don't appreciate your PM to me saying I'm trying to screw people over by selling my 811. I have a receipt for my 811 and I paid $399 for it.
There's no need for you to make accusations against me. I'm just trying to sell my 811.

As for you saying existing customers can get a 811 to own for free and also get $25 for taking it, please produce a valid link on Dish's site. I think you are full of it. And you show no class by making the PM to me that you did.

I think you may be taking a about a lease deal for new customers where you have to pay $5 extra a month for each box and you DO NOT own them.

You do not have to pay $5/month for the HD box, you would for the OVR. Call Dish and tell them you want the Dish n it up deal. The HD pack is then 5/mo required. THe receiver is a lease, but is inlcuding the HD pack if you want to look at i tthat way. I never said you were trying to screw people...I said your a smart ass for running around telling people to PROVE IT! Thats like running around saying my dad can beat up your dad! Why don't you PROVE it that your deal is better than dishes?

I'm a "real smart ass" as you say because YOU CANNOT get a 811 to own for $50 or less. I'm just trying to sell a 811 and I get people saying in my thread that they can own one for $50 or less. I just asked for proof.

By the way, I just called Dish and TO OWN a 811 it is still $399 plus 14.95 for shipping. And they knew nothing about your deal for existing customers. They said I could get a lease deal if I was a new customer.

And yes if you claim there's a deal out there, it would be nice to have a link on Dish's site that covers ALL of the details. And shows it really exists. According to the CSR I just talked to, your deal does not exist.

I just went to their web site and the only "deals" they have is DHA which is for new customers.

Not trying to agree with Noritsu as his tact may have been lacking, but I also leased an 811 and it cost me $0. You are correct that I don't own it, but ina while, I will just lease a much better (probably an HD DVR) for the same cost, $0.

For the record, I paid $24.95 to get the 811 and sent back some old receiver that I owned (it was free with the initial credits), and got a $25 credit. I was already paying $5 a month for the second receiver and now have an 811 for a $5 a month lease, which means my monthly bill did not change. So in effect, I got the 811 and $.05 back for the old crappy receiver I had. I do subscribe to the HD pack, but I was told (before the whole half price promo) that it was not required when I did it (the day after I heard of the leases).

Thanks for clearing this up and being civil - as opposed to Noritsu who has resorted to now sending me PM's about what he would like to do with my wife.

I wonder why the CSR I talked to did not know about this...maybe because I wasn't trading in another receiver? Do you have a link to this deal on their web site?

Anyway, if anyone wants to OWN a near new HD receiver, I have one for sale at $200 off what I paid for it a couple of months ago.

No problem at all. It is part of their Dish it Up promo. I can't link directly to it because you have to log in to your account on Dish's web site. If you log in there should be an upgrade or equipment upgrade where it talks about being able to lease up to 2 510s and/or 811 or a 522 (for $49). I think that the offer is based on your customer record because they mention that you must call them to do this and don't have a link. I am very much in favor of leasing now just because the $5 a month lease is the same as the $5 a month charge for a second reciever. Paying (sorry :( ) $400 just wasn't what I wanted to do since I knew HD was in its infancy and better receivers would start coming out every year and unlike the whole this always happens in electronics, this is so brand new that the leaps in functionality and price drops will be far bigger than normal.

Edited to add that I have had my 811 for at least 4 months (right before Lost premiered), and you did not have to trade in a receiver. If you did then you got $25 which covered the shipping of the 811. I would complain to Dish's retention and say that you were never told about leasing it and would have preferred to do that. Maybe you can get credit for it and turn it into a lease?
