Spring Leaves and Rain Fade w/ E*

With the new leaves of Spring emerging, rade fade once again is back. I live in a nasty place for DBS (even the installer asked if cable was a possibility) and haven't been able to convince the neighbor to cut the offending trees down.

I have been dealing with rain fade every spring/summer for 3 years now. The typical routine is that the "Signal is lost" box will come up. Well things were different today and I'm wondering if it is yet another bug in the open tv upgrade (I have an upgraded 4700 -->4900). When I tried to turn to TWC 214 the banner is displayed but then the system locks. I then have to pull the smart card to get the receiver to work again. When I try other channels that are also suffering from rain fade I get the signal lost box. But for some reason, ch. 214 locks the system up. I did a switch test and everything was fine.

Has anyone else experienced this...any thoughts?

I don't think that rainfade is your problem, because the same thing is happening to me about twice a week with my 4900, and it's related to the dish home upgrade, not your opentv upgrade. I have to pull my smartcard the force the receiver to reset. Very annoying to say the least, but that's the only solution that I have for you.
