Manning MVP

No surprise that Manning won the MVP. I do have to scratch my head that he did not get a unanimous vote. There was ONE bozo that gave Michael Vick his/her vote. No offense to TerryC, but Vick is probably down my list somewhere between 10-15 as far as MVP status in concerned :confused:

I guess it depends on how you look at things. I like Manning, and he has had a phenomenal year... but I understand "MVP" to be most-valuable-player, as who means the most to his/her team.

We *might* find out that Terrell Owens is the MVP to Philly if they do horribly in the playoffs after only losing 1 game with him playing during the regular season.

You could argue Daunte Culpepper is the MVP to the Vikings with the year he had, and without Manning's numbers we'd be talking about Daunte's... or you could even argue Moss is the MVP, since they were 5-1 before he got injured this year.

Certainly you can make a case for Tom Brady at New England. You could make a case that Ricky Williams was the MVP for Miami, since his retirement killed their season! But I wouldn't give him an award for not playing of course!

Vick certainly is the difference from last year to this year on his team.

But for the MVP votes... Given the year Manning has had, I expected the vote to be unanimous... but since it wasn't, I'm surprised there was only one dissenter and that went to Vick. I'd have expected Vick to get a few and TO to get a few, but Manning still win in a landslide.

My opinion has always been, it's the NFL MVP (after all that's what they call it). I don't believe the criteria should be most valuable to your team (however that is important) but stats, team success and last and certainly least, the old...'what would his team be like if he weren't there.'

I don't believe Vick deserves it but people put too much into his passing numbers as if his running shouldn't factor into it. I think he's better than 10-15, though. But Manning would be my pick.
