I just switched to D* and am wanting to sell my Dish equip. Is there anything I need to do? I know the receivers are clean of PPV's, is there any information that is needed to the buyer when I sell it, or things they don't need to know. What would I need to be suspect of if a hacker wanted the equip? Do I need to call Dish and let them know I am selling the equipment? Or do they even care?
For what it's worth:
I have a 508, 811, SW64 switch with the power injector, and 3 LNBF's.
Thanks for your help!

Just make sure the equipment is clean of PV charges, you can check this in the Dial Out's Pending menu. Beyond this are they leased or owned? If they are owned put a price to them and wallah. Ebay or what ever. The new owner? well that's your call. As long as you cover yourself by calling 1-800-333-3474 and telling them your selling the equipment, give them the R ID and S ID numbers so they have them on file.
Moving your post to the For Sale forum. How much are you looking for?

Thanks for your help.
The 508 would like $200, and the 811 $225, plus shipping, whatever the actual shipping costs are. The 508 has two remotes and the manual. The 811 has the manual and the remote and the small UHF antenna.
Switch, and the LNBF's I have no idea would have to look around and see what they are going for.

You may want to go to e-bay to sell your items. Your prices are at the top end of what used equipment is going for there. The advantage to the buyers on e-bay are that you have some payment protection through e-bay, you have none here. Also keep in mind that there's another 508 currently for sale here at $175....that will likely sell first even though yours has two remotes. Good luck!

I just sold a 508 and 811 on ebay last month. $153 for the 508 and $227.50 for the 811. I threw free shipping in on both. Guess where both went...California.
