So, my guide data for local channel 14 (WB) is still showing up wrong...it shows as channel 25 (also a local, and in fact 25 owns channel 14).

I called DirecTV about this, and they seemed pretty clueless.

I've let them know it's wrong, but what now?

Sounds like someone screwed up entering the guide data. I don't suppose there's much else you can do but wait, and call again in a few days if it's not corrected. I'd also send DirecTV an email. Make as much noise as you can. Try the website for an address.

I've had problems with incorrect guide data on titantv.com before. Their explanation to me was that they get the guide information from a data provider they use furnish the information they get from the networks, locals, etc. If something changes in the network's schedule last minute... the guide may still have that old data. I don't know anything about how DirecTV gets it... but it may be a similar issue.

What do titantv, tvguide.com, and others online say compared to DirecTV? They could be getting the data from the same source. Also, maybe the local channels themselves are furnishing the incorrect data.

TVGUIDE.com has it right, sort of, but seems to be off on which digital channel is NBC and which is WB. Maybe I should call the station?

D* uses Zap2it for their guide data. You will need to contact them directly via the feedback page (link below) and not D*. It will take time (days to weeks) for Zap2it to make the correction and it will take multiple emails to them, like once a day.

Well, that's a bother. As it is I need to contact the station, too--as they're not passing through closed captions. :(

You'd be surprised the backflips I have to go through on captions. :(

Here's interesting... Zap2it doesn't list 25.1 and 25.2, just 25...and it doesn't have WB14. (Zipcode 48867)

So does Zap2it match what you are receiving i.e. labeled stations? If Zap2it doesn't have it then you will have to add them manually on the receiver, right? And then it says LOCAL with "local programming", correct?

It's (channel 14) a local provided by DirecTV. It has the same exact guide data as 25, also a local provided by DirecTV, and owned by the same company.

WEYI is channel 25 - NBC
WB14 is also WEYI, sort of... it's SD Digital OTA, but has no analog channel, yet is sold to cable and D* as an SD local.

14 doesn't show in Zap2it. It shows in my guide but with the same programming as 25.

Make sense?
