I live in Raleigh, NC and have had the National Network Feeds for years. If I sign-up for Raleigh Locals will E* force me to drop the Nationals?
Thanks!

In all seriousness - why do you still have them ? You're certainly Grade A (strike 1), only ABC and NBC are Network O&O's (strike 2), WRAL is probably the leading station in the country on HD (only 2 other Seattle stations that I know of are doing local news in HD). If you're in the city of Raleigh, I'd bet you will have ZERO problems getting them OTA. - I do pretty good on the analog stations and I live in Youngsville (also Grade A for all except WUNC - it 's Grade B for my location). Except for WUNC, most stations are in Auburn, just east of Garner.
I'd say it's a certainty that you will be forced to drop the national feeds - I'm surprised the audits haven't caught you yet !

If you sign up for your local channels and you already have the national network channels then you are grandfathered and should still be able to get them but I would figure that most would want to drop their national network channels to make up for the price instead of having to pay more.

Jacob - did you read my post - bradesp is in GRADE A - NFW is he eligible for Distant networks, no matter what scenario you paint. - Trust me - I'm local and know the situation !

Jacob,
What you say may was true until the new law (SHVREA). I'm nearly certain that if you take locals now, BY LAW you have to give up the distant networks.
If you already have both by Oct. 2004 you get to keep both for now.
If you have distants and your locals become available, you have a choice to get locals or keep distants (this I know for sure).
It is not the same as before with the SHVIA where one did not affect the other.
See ya

The only reason why I said what I said is due to the fact that Dish Network didnt state anything to me while doing a SuperDish upgrade and I had to specifically tell them to remove the national networks.

I was getting nationals when my locals come out.
They had a free preview of the locals and I was notified I had x amount of time to decided did I want them or not. I was also told since locals were available I would lose the nationals. Surprised you still have them.
If you want to keep the nationals I wouldn't say a word. At least you get NY & California.

As I said - I'm surprised the audits haven't caught him yet. Raleigh is for certain Grade A on all stations in the market (well at least the important ones - networks / WB/UPN/PBS). If you want to keep getting NY/LA, don't do a thing to your subscription.
On the flip side - our E* locals are pretty good - almost OTA in quality - certainly better than you hear from other areas. Benefits of sharing a spotbeam only with Charlotte, I guess.

Jacob, was this before or after the SHVREA was signed in December?

This was less than a week ago. Maybe the CSR was not informed or something but I know that they have been recieving the national network channels from NY for many years.
