View Full Version : What is that globe at the bottom
I notice occasionally that a little ball type icon with lines at the right appears at the bottom left of my tv screen.
It will pop up, the picture quality will drop for a second then it goes away.
I was just curious if anyone knew what was going on to cause this.

I am guessing you get this only on your local channels via satellite. (Or one of the superstations)
What you are seeing is called a GhostBuster showing that the receiving site receiver is using its Ghostbusting technology to eliminate Ghosting from the pictures. Believe it or not many of the local channels are received by Antenna. This Ghost Canceling technology is cool although I wish it didn't put its Circle on the screen when its working, to me thats almost as annoying as a ghosting image itself.

At one time this technology was available to conumers. It does reduce ghosting but Scott is right that globe is annoying.
