Has anyone elce noticed pixelation on the Chicago locals lately. Channle 5 seems to be the worst. Also, between commercals I've noticed a fuzzy screen. I just wonderd if anyone elce has noticed this.

I have been noticing a bit of static with the Chi local. Very minor, but noticable. I thought it might be my receiver or the connection but none of the other channels have it.

I noticed the exact same thing on Chicago Channel 5.
I think it looks no better than a signal picked up by rabbit ears.
I thought the locals were sent to Dish uplink facility by fiber optics but I must be wrong, fiber optics couldn't be that bad.

Ah Charlie just needs to drive down to Chicago and turn the antenna a lil it, Chicago is after all the windy city, I would bet the wind just rotated the antenna a lil bit lol. :p :eek2:

All picture quality emails address to: dishquality@echostar.com
Mike I have done that to no avail. Locals have always been bad, but better than an antenna. Dish's typical response has been, to blame my TV, blame the weather, blame my cables, or blame the network themselves, i.e. garbage in garbage out. I stay with Dish because I have no other viable option, but they have been going downhill for years. It seems like their marketing ploy is just to be a little better than the competition. I think they are, but it still doesn't , mean their quality is where it was. It just seems like the whole curve has been on a downward trend, and instead of them staying where they were, they are happy to slide down too as long as they are seen as the best alternative. I have had Dish since they started.

Sorry, I have always had a good experience with the guys at the dishquality department. Have you left a good daytime/nighttime number for them to reach you? I did and they would often call back in a day or two and even work with me over the phone to tweak the individual stations. I have done this with the Houston and the Little Rock stations. That was over a year ago so I don't know how they are doing now. The only station I have in the Houston pack that doesn't look so good today is the WB , and that is only on "Charmed." I also sub to the superstation kwgn so I get a good picture from that station.
Try leaving a number and describe your individual situation with easy details that they can understand like; The picture looks like a sea of vasoline over pixelation, blocking ,etc. They should call you back. I hope that Dish isn't getting so big that they forget about the picture. This has always been why I perfer Dish to Directv . They have always cared about the picture quality in the past . Maybe having all the locals up ther but 40 cities or so has overworked their engineers. If that doesn't work you can always write to the ceo@echostar.com and describe that you have contacted the dishquality department and the problem still persist. It might just work if nothing else will.:sure:
One thing; I too had Chicago distants at one time and they have always looked like a lot of pixelation and static running through the line on certain stations like the nbc. This sounds like to me , that they need to check the station itself and see if there is something introducing static or noise in the line where it is uplinked from the station itself.:eek2:
I have noticed static on WMAQ NBC 5 but the rest seem ok. On cable I remember 2 and 5 had static but 7, 9, and 11 always had sharp clear pictures on cable and satellite.
I don't know what can be done to get rid of the static on NBC 5.
For those Chicago viewers-- e-mail Dish to get them to put WWME-TV 23 on the local package. It is a sister station from WCIU 26 with a classic TV lineup better than TV Land. Directv is already carrying it of course.
WCIU e-mailed me back and said they are in negotiations with Dish to get WWME on satellite and said Dish customer requests would help the cause.
