Just an FYI, looks like the WMAW move is going from a discrete feed (or duplicate feed on 121) to a mirror of WMPN Jackson. This station has been available to everyone in Mississippi for some time for $1.50.
The new "all locals from any given market on one dish" rule is being taken to heart by Dish. All locals on one DISH not one satellite location.
WMAW is a full time repeater of MPN.

So they will either be moving some markets entirely to wings or moving wings to superdish and some how get enough room for the top 30 markets on a dish 500, cause I doubt they'll change those dishes...

Any Idea when "this week" is?
I ran a website on RConnect and it didn't come up yet. However the adress is eligible for a distant NBC, so they won't be without that.
yeah checked dishnetwork.com today and no mention of ProSieben yet. I hope they can package it with GermanTV and keep the price low. Maybe they can get more channels as well. Danke
Well, they didn't like the new DT subchannel listings, so they removed them. They were only in engineering status anyway.

Probably at 6 AM EST tomorrow morning.

ProSieben channel is reported to say on EPG: "Programming begins 8 pm EST Feb 3rd"

Any idea on when they will start moving the channels to Dish 500? I still can't believe that in the Top 10 markets, you still have to have two dishes for some of the locals.

Any idea on when they will start moving the channels to Dish 500?September? They are waiting for the launch of E10 which is due out later this year.
BTW: They have done a fair amount of "moving to Dish500" over the past year, so in essence they have already begun the move. (But don't expect anything major until the last quarter.)
The deadline for "one dish" is July 2006 IIRC. E* is in no rush and doesn't even have to notify customers about the moves until next January. A successful deployment of E10 will solve a lot of problems.

The Top 10 markets are the ones with the most channels. The spotbeams which cover those markets are for the most part full. They moved 12 or 13 channels in the LA market and still had plenty left to move.

5 bucks savings, i see, in a package deal :)
WBMM Daystar now available in Montgomery, AL
I have seen this channel on FTA and the channel is a mirror of the nat'l feed.
So how come this is actually on a channel in the DMA area (7858 according to TNGTony's chart) instead of the nat'l one (9408)?
Yeah they have the offer up there now!
Question: The channels are on SAT 121, I suppose that does mean I need another dish instead of my Dish 500 which is pointed at 110 and 119 right now? Do I have to have them install another dish to get this?

Yes..
But find out if you eligible to get a Free dish from them first...

This channel is not owned by Daystar. This channel is independently owned and not subject to the Daystar deal. So essentially, the channel owners demanded "must carry"

Just be be clear, you need a DIFFERENT dish, not another one. A SuperDISH 121 instead of a Dish 500 will do the trick. The SuperDISH is much wider and a little taller oblong dish.
See if Dish is offering any deals on the upgrade with international channel subscriptions!

yep. Equity owns them. This use to be a Pax affiliate until Equity and Pax split on ths one (and WBIF and KWBS)
I did not know about the affiliate clause in the Daystar/Dish spat
Looks like you have to subscribe to ZEETV to get the International Free Preview channel(599) now.
South Asia World Free Preview ending soon.

More worthless crap that 98% of their customers couldn't care less about. We all should hound E* until they add channels to help compensate for this absurb price increase.
TNGTony
02-05-05, 02:17 PM
Oh for goodness sake....
The price increase was caused by a price increase to Dish by ABC/Disney (ESPN), Rainbow, Fox, etc. Adding more channels only increases the prices more!

Tony
Yes, this is really getting old. Every single TV service provider faced these increases, there's no BS from dish's part.
Any indication that they changed the local compression scheme, giving fox affiliates more bandwidth? Do they even do that kind of thing?
I might seem that way, but there is no indication that is happening. FOX is currently originating in 720p Hi definition which might make the locals look better.

Any indication that they changed the local compression scheme, giving fox affiliates more bandwidth? Do they even do that kind of thing? If you are talking about more bandwidth on E* it is illegal. All locals must receive the same bandwidth, regardless of the content that is currently on the air.
Fox is free to adjust their feeds to affillates as they deem fit.
Personally, I wonder why more networks don't use 720p instead of 1080i.
I expect we will also be seing ED feeds in the future, for stations who want 16:9 without the HD bandwidth.

However, because of the multiplexing compression system, FOX affiliates may receive more bandwidth automatically when the picture is moving a lot.
