I am a west coast Dish subscriber and I have SkyAngel. Because of that I need four satellite feeds. I have heard that is possible by cascading sw21s and sw64s.

Can I specifically do this (with the following equipment):
501PVR
4900
3 SW-21s
500 Twin
2 300s

110/119 (twin)----------------------|SW21|--501
61.5 --------|SW21|-----------------|
148 --------|

110/119 (twin)----------------------|SW21|--4900
61.5 --------|SW21|-----------------|
148 --------|

If not does anyone have any suggestions?

I did this 4 satellite setup w/ the SW64 & SW21. The "check switch" test goes all the way up to 50. I don't think your 4900 will support four satellites. Make sure that you check the box for "129 satellite installed". I think only the current line of receivers will support four satellites.

I don't know about using 3 different SW21 switches (one switch is in the twin). You may need to use a powered switch box.

As styxfix said - your 4900 probably doesn't support this, but your 501 should (if it has the latest s/w). And it is only supported as the SW64 / SW21 combination.

You can't cascade SW21's.

I'm trying to do something similar. I have tried cascading sw21's. That won't work. Now I'm seeing all kinds of post that say a 64 with a 21 will and won't work.

I'm gonna give it a try.

Check your Signal test screen on the 4900. If it has the 129 Install option, it will support the SW64/SW21 cascade for 4 satellites. You will need to replace the Twin with 2 Duals. The other 2 dishes should have Duals as well.
