Because I live in Eastern CT, and want to watch NY Mets games this year, I may try DirectTV and see how it goes. With Dish I only get NESN and FSNE (Red Sox), but since the Mets and Yankees also "claim" all of CT, I cannot get those games even if I subscribe to MLB Extra Innings from Dish or my local cable company.
I was told by DTV that if I bought their programming and added the Sports Pack, I would get Red Sox, Yankees and Mets games.
So - what I am considering is getting a single SD receiver and dish for DTV and see how it goes. If I like DTV and Dish still flounders with HDTV by the time my pre-paid year is up (August), I may switch (or at least not pre-pay the year)
My question therefore is this: Can I start with a single dish and get the Total Choice plus the Sports Pack, or will I need the "triple dish". What about locals?
If I plan for future HDTV from DTV, would I be better off just getting the $299 HDTV 1 room deal and the triple dish?
Also, where does the dish point to? I assume that it's pretty much the same direction as the E* dish.
Anything else I should be aware of?
THANKS
