I've been having some bizarre problems lately with my 921. These just started happening in the last few weeks. Up till then L211 seemed to be working just fine.

Last evening I had the timers set to record several programs, two OTA from WPVI 06-01 and two from Dish HD channels. The recordings made from the satellite channels seem to be just fine, but the OTA are all screwed up. And they seem to screw up other things on the 921.

This morning when I turned on the 921, the program guide info was scrambled. It was tuned to Discovery HD, the Sunrise show, but when I hit the Info key on the remote, it displayed the info for a different program.

Then when I pressed the DVR key and selected one of last night's OTA recordings, the remote stopped working. When I tried to select the Start over from the menu, the 921 became totally unresponsive to the remote controller. So I pulled the cord and did a cold reboot. This has happened several times in the last few weeks.

After rebooting, the program guide seemed to be OK, and I was able to start playing the first of the OTA recordings, Desperate Housewives. But not for long. At the beginning of the recording, when I pressed the Pause button, the time remaining displayed something like 321 minutes (this was a 61 minute recording). About 15 minutes into the show, pressing Pause showed something like 1532 minutes remaining. It was at about that point that the recording became uncontrollable, that it, when I pressed the Skip Fwd button, it moved to the beginning of the recording. For all practical purposes the remainder of the recording it not viewable if I try to fast forward or skip ahead. I haven't tried just viewing it without pressing those buttons as I don't have the stomach to set through commercials.

The second OTA recording, Boston Legal, was similarly marred, although the details of the time remaining display are a bit different. It starts out showing about 7 minutes remaining, after which period it shows 1532 (or whatever) and stops responding correctly to the skip fwd button.

As I said, this has been happening over the last few weeks. In fact, I don't think I've been able to make a good OTA recording. I think the station is always WPVI 06-01.

Have you attempted to contact Dish Support on these issues?

I've had the same problem with OTA recording of WPVI on my 921 and it also just started recently.

I'm having the same problem with 006-01 only on high def. ota content i can record anything from 006-01 thats in 4X3 ratio and have no problem, on 16X9 programs hit ff or skip and it goes back to the begining. Mark is this a hardware problem or something with the stations psip info?

I've had the same problems, recording Lost on WTVD in Raleigh NC

As an FYI I have found that if you FF to where you want to be then hit Stop and then choose resume you can pick up where you left off, however each time you fast forward you have to start from the begining (or close to) of the show.

I've called and reported it as a bug, they've told me there are 'issues' recording OTA HD broadcasts.

Hope this helps,
