I don't usually post on these boards but Im always here lurking around especially around baseball season in hopes that YES actually does show up somewhere. Well, it is apparently testing right now on the 110 bird so I thought I'd say: "Its that time of year again."
You know baseball season is here when a YES related rumor shows up. Such as last year when YES was showing up in Dish's computer system as an available RSN. Who can forget three years ago when the channel was uplinked on 411 only to magically disappear without a trace.
I highly doubt YES will ever be turned over to the subscriber system. There is no real reason for Dish to add it. Anyone who wanted it bad enough already went to DirecTV. I highly doubt George buckled in the ludicrous price demands and Charlie sure as hell didn't spend any real money.
So let's all be serious, what are the REAL chances of getting YES? I am certainly not holding my breath.

I am a big Yankee fan living in Oklahoma. Had Directv for the past 5 years. I buy MLB extra innings package every year. Made the swap to Dish in November. One of the questions I have is if Dish does not get the Yes network, will I still be able to pickup most of the Yankee games on mlb? Dish needs to get this deal done! Come on Dish, step up to the plate and give us Yes, espn2hd, and espnu.

If you are in OK, and sub to the MLB EI Pack, then you should get the Yanks. Thats what My beef is. I live in Upstate NY 500 miles from NYC. Yanks games are blacked out on MLB EI...makes no sense to me.
I personally have given up hope on having YES. I see it this way. If you want satellite TV and you are a sports buff...then D* is the better choice.

Some Yankee's games will be on WWOR which is a superstation. Price: a buck fifty.

Since the Yankees claim all of New York state (plus some of PA / NJ / CT) as their home territory, everyone from NYC to Watertown to Buffalo is going to see few Yankees games with Dish Network.
Even though all the big Yankees fans have already switched to D*, the lack of YES has to be killing Dish as far as getting new subs in NYC area and New York state. Even for those who aren't avid Yankees fans, I bet that when the prices are close to the same (as they are with D* and E*) most new subs will pick the service with YES. And it's also hard for Dish to get converts from cable if they don't offer the most popular sports team in the state. So maybe Dish will see the light and finally get YES.

Actually there are a fare amount of yankee haters who chose e* over d* for those very same reasons :D

In the area I live in New Jersey, I see a lot of people getting Dish network because of International programming and it's cheaper than D*.
I'm fine with Dish network getting YES, as long as it a la carte, not forcing every subscriber to pay for it. I agree with previous poster, there a lot yankee haters as well and they get E* instead of D* because of this.

Unfortunately Extra Innings is an "out of market" package. You are expected to subscribe to your local RSN in order to get your local teams. The only problem is that you can't GET that local RSN in New York so you are SOL. This rule isn't changing anytime soon.
If you absolutely have to have access to Yankee games switch to cable or D*. As a Mets fan I could care less, but as a casual Devils fan, I will miss the games that move to YES whenever the NHL comes back online.
Devils signed a new contract with FSN didn't they? I thought they weren't going to YES????

I think the devils did signed a ten year contract with MSG who is part of FSN. So they will be on FSN for the next 10 years...
Now....I hope that this time Dish can get this deal done with YES. This news that YES may be coming to the Dish Network has made me very excited. Can't wait to tune into channel 408 for the YES NETWORK on Dish Network baby!! :)
Not to get anyones hopes up, but there is EPG info in the stream for 408. It says Mike and the Mad Dog is on now, but the channel is still called TEMP1 and is not available.

I stand corrected...... I had heard last year that they were moving to YES. OK, now I officially don't care about YES anymore. Yankee fans you are on your own.....

Was there EPG info in the stream for Oxygen (before it was removed) or CSTV? Does anyone know? I'm not getting my hopes up. Anyone have any additional information?
Don't remember seeing any for Oxygen, but there is info for CSTV and CSN Chicago.

To-date, there wasn't / isn't any EPG info neither for Oxygen nor for YES.
Maybe you don't see the info for YES, but it is there.

Opps ..sorry.. Yes it's there...
Somehow i was talking about some special Slate(s) / announcement(s) about the channel / separate channel advertizing the upcoming channel, etc (this kinda info...)
But Yes.. - YES's EPG info IS there...
I didn't understand the question (or never digested the question enough) ..and rushed with a quick reply...

OK many people think that even though YES's EPG info is there that its still a small chance that YES may be added to Dish...My question is if charlie has no intention on making this network available then why in the world uplink it in the 1st place?

I switched to DISH back when the Yankees had their spat with Cablevision. I wasn't able to get D* because of a building blocking the line of sight and the DISH salespeople consistently said that they would be getting YES soon. In hindsight it appears that they consciously told their representatives to lie since there was never an imminent deal. I didn't switch because it was really a lot cheaper to be on DISH and I had already invested in the hardware. I am seriously considering dropping DISH now because 1) Cablevision is being very aggressive in their pricing (HD DVR for $9.99), 2) Limited HD content on DISH, 3) no YES, 4)DISH price increases.
If DISH added YES, they would be removing at least one of these obstacles. I know a lot of subscribers in NY are on the verge of going back to cable, so if the company were smart it would try to make nice with some of their customers. Even if the cable rates go up, DISH seems to treat their new customers much better so one could always switch back.

Just an FYI,
When Dish uplinks a channel, it is because they have every intention of carrying the channel. HOWEVER, they may not have ironed out all the carriage deals at the time. This means that if a negotiator sneezes and they have to adjurn for a month while he recovers from the sneeze, the channel is just there and not available to subscribers for a month.
So, is YES coming to Dish? Dish wants to put it on, but now its a matter of ironing out the $$$ and packaging. I don't know how much better a deal YES wants from "you get every neckel collected from an a la carte fee and we don't charge you for any satellite space or uplink fees." But that was where things broke off last time.

TonyFrom everything I've read on this issue over the past two years, YES Network wants the same deal as MSG and FSNY - carriage on AT60+ and AT120. Seems fair to me, why should YES be the only RSN not part of a basic programming package?
There are several issues that have to be ironed out to get YES Network on Dish:
1. What programming package? AT60+, AT180, a-la-carte?
2. What cost per month?
3. What area will YES be offerred? Yankees territory covers all of New York, all of Connecticut, and parts of NJ / PA; will everybody in all these areas get to see the Yankees? (Note: Dish has a tendency to save $$ by not offering pro sports to all areas that qualify; for example, the Mets are not availble in eastern CT and western NY even though they claim these areas.)
4. Will YES be part of Multi-Sport, and what is this cost per month?
Nobody here knows exactly which of the above have been sticking points in the past; here's hoping they get things ironed out and get YES Network on the air.
(BTW Dish - you still need to get FSW2 on a CONUS beam and add this to Multi-Sport. Adding ESPNU and CSTV wouldn't hurt either.)
aimen brother you can say that again
