Stumbled across this forum while trying to solve a problem I'm having with my receivers, seems to be full of usefull info. Nifty. Now the problem. We have 4 receivers going into a DP44. It looks something like this:
.................................................. ..................................
................ __________........................................ .......
110 Sat =]....................[= (output 1) Power/Dish 921..
119 Sat =]....................[= (Output 2) Dish 921............
...............]....................[= (Output 3) Dish 501.............
...............].....DP44.......[= ............................................
...............-----------------.................................................
.................................................. ....................................
(Pretend all the dots are just white space)

After sometime earlier in the week (looks like 03/01/05) we started having problems with our 501 receivers. It started by it wanting to update the program info, but not being able to and finished by itnot being able to see the switch correctly. It reports LNBs: DP Feed and that only one satelite is connected. Here's what we've tried:

1.) Performing a hard reset (HD & NVRAM) on the 501
2.) Letting the receiver stay powered down for ~20-30 min
3.) Putting the 501 on another port on the DP44 (tried port 4)
4.) Putting the 921 on port 3 (921 worked fine)
5.) Puting the 501 on port 2 (a known good port)
6.) Doing all of the above with a known good 508 receiver
7.) Power cycling the DP44 switch
8.) Switching out the cable with a known good cable

It seems that no matter what I try, the 501/508's are no longer happy with the DP44. :( Everything _was_ working great, so I'm at a loss as to why everything has suddenly gone bonkers. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Any more ideas? :confused: Thanks

Did you do a Check Switch on all your receivers that are hooked to the DP44? This is a must. Also if that doesn't work, it may not hurt to first power off the DPP44; then disconnect the satellite cables to it's inputs and power it up about 15min. later (without the satellite dish inputs connected.); then do a check switch without the satellite receivers hooked up. This will reset the switch. After doing the reset, then hook everything back up and perfrom a check switch for each receiver.

Be sure that your power inserter is hooked between the separator and the DPP44,and that it is hooked to input one of the DPP44.

Please post back to keep us updated on how things function.
