522 guide no locals

I hooked up my 522 yesterday and when I look at my guide for the locals it says no infomation available.... Whats the deal?

It usually takes a day or two to get the full guide. Turn off your 522 tonight and you should have the full guide tomorrow.

By the way, the extended guide comes from transponder 29 at the 110 slot so if you continue to have guide problems you might want to check that transponder to make sure you are getting a good signal.

i got my locals to show up. Now it only has 2 days in the epg

You'll get a 2 day guide from 119.

Since you're not seeing 110 (other thread), you're not going to get the extended guide.

had this same problem on 522 install, called dish and went through changing my transponder settings. Now I have at least a week of locals in the guide. I would call and speek to an upper level tech. I had one that was very helpful and knowledgable.

You can't CHANGE transponder settings. You can only look at the signal strength on that transponder when you are on the dish pointing screen. When you switch to a channel (or the receiver retrieves the guide when it is off) the receiver will change to the needed transponder. The reason that the tech made you change transponders is to make sure that you had a good signal on both the even and odd transponders and that it was not a dish alignment problem (you could get both the 119 and 110 satellites).
