Hmmm.... got this during Gundam SEED last night between the intro and the first act. I wonder if this screen is generated at Cartoon Networks end or DirecTV's end.

They are Cartoon Network's Adult Swim bumper pages. They have all sorts of humorous ones sprinkled in throughout the block.

Gundam SEED is not part of Adult Swim.

Perhaps it was at one time and the bumper page was inadvertently left in? It sounds like it could have been easy for a harried editor to overlook. I know... I used to be a video editor.

Gundam SEED is a first run anime series. These are all brand new episodes. The series did air on Toonami, but for only the first 26 episodes. For time reasons, they do edit out the opening credits, the mid-show eye-catch, move the end-of-episode preview from after the closing credits to before the closing credits, and snip off the tail end of the episode when they start the closing credits.

Still, it was kinda strange.
