I doubt you will get any help because of the major lawsuits Directv just initiated on Feb 28th:

and March 3rd:
http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/aboutus/headline.dsp?id=03_03_2005A,
so as you can see, you are pretty much on your own right know. I dont think anyone wants to pay damages to Directv ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 dollars according to the federal gov't.:nono2:
........According to the federal and state laws under which the complaint was filed, DIRECTV is entitled to either actual damages, including any profits made by the defendants, or statutory damages that can range from $10,000 to $100,000 per violation, as well as payment of all costs and attorneys' and investigative fees....(qoute from Directv website)

I think, Smthkd is correct in that you are more than likely on you own in this. I dont know if you are actually paying for the service or not, however I'm inclined to beleive that you are not and that is against the law.
With that being said, I do have 2 point about the info that Smthkd brought up.
1) A Judge ruled that the RC Act was unconsitutional. (this is the same RC Act that D* is suing under)
2) D* is not an authorized distibutor in Canada. They are not allowed to sell to anyone in Cananda. When asked in court if it was not illegal would they want to sell to Canadians. D* answer was that they had to think about it.
just more things to ponder ;)
