I will try to make this short. Spoke with a Csr @ E* and explained to him that I have the top 150 pkg w/HBO. I heard that if you have the 150 pkg with no premiums you are eligable to get free Cinemax for 6 mos. in addition to HBO (if you subscribe). Well the nice Csr said if you had HBO you can cancel, pay the $5 cancel fee and re-order HBO w/the Cinemax 6 mos. option. Did you know the Csr gave me the Cinemax pkg and waived the $5 fee! My hats off to the Csr who went the extra mile to keep me happy!
Now I have free Cinemax for 6 mos. in addition to HBO. All I can say you should try this and see if it works for you....you never know...
Way to go E*...:)
I have The America's Top 150, and I don't have Cinemax.
How do you get it free?

Have AT150 with no premiums?
Get HBO
Then you get Cinemax for free for 6 months.
(Of course you have to get HBO for 6 months at 13.99 a month.)
See ya

I have known about this promotion for awhile now, its not supposed to be an advertised promotion.
This was a special setup for the dealers so that they can close a deal, you know the
(Dish Installer) "Mr Jones, while I am turning on your Dish Network service would you be interested in HBO?"
(Mr Jones) "No"
(Dish Installer) "Ok Mr Jones, how about if I turn on HBO and throw in 6 months free Cinemax?"
(Mr Jones) "Hey that sounds great!"
While I have known about this promotion for awhile I have not made mention of it due to the fact this was setup to help the local dealers increase their sales.
The last thing I want to do is hurt the dealers, they are the real life blood of Dish Network.
But I guess the word is out now. :(
BTW this unadvertised special lasts through June.

Do you think that maybe PERHAPS this was a little bit of a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" to get some of the other premiums on Dish? So many people have been requesting them lately that Dish just can't say "Not enough people want them to warrant trying to get them."
Thanks Rolou 21, I tried it today, and it worked for me. I guess we don't want to spoil a good thing, but what the heck. Free is Free.

Welcome to DBSTalk pbrown! :hi:
Thanks rolou21 I called the other night and was given the 6 free months of Cinemax. I had the America's everything pack. I told the CSR that I had read this here on DBS TalK and asked if it were possible or not.
I told him " what the heck , I mean if I could get the credit for the Cinemax or the Cinemax free for six months , heck I'd take it If they'd give it to me."
The CSR put me on hold while he checked on it . When he came back he took the movie packages off my account and then added them right back on while I was on the phone with him.
He said the computer took it and did allow it.
So free Cinemax for six months. Thanks rolou21 for the information.
I am glad that I was give the Cinemax offer, after all I've carried the Everything pack for 2 1/2 years, They've offered Free starz previews, Free showtime, Free AT 150 previews, etc and never got anything because I already carried everything, so its nice to get the free CINEMAX.
I also happened to pick up a 5 pack of SONY vcr tapes at the local KMART and on it they had a rebate offer from SONY for up to 15 dollars on HBO. If you were a satellite customer and carried HBO as part of a package you would get 12 dollars.
Huh, pretty cool pay $5.95 for the tapes get a $12 rebate.
You had to purchase the tapes before 5/31/02. I bought the tapes on 5/29/02.
