Almost Every Wednsday.. - somewhat sarcastically agressive towards Charlie, Chris Walker, aren't you...eh? ;)

But frankly... Charlie owes us nothing... it's just that every Wednsday, their stream / uplink activities occur (generally).. and it's more like internal thingy.. and not a public thingy.. AND .. if it wouldn't have been for John being able to pinpoint all of those activities to us (be they little or plenty of....) ... - we'd more likely really knew jack about them :D

Would it kill Charlie to throw us a bone and add a quality English speaking channel once in a while? (NFL NETWORK!!)

What was the last legitimate channel we got, Nicktoons? Which was a year ago right? That's frustrating and unnacceptable.

I'm just a regular ole subscriber who's just curious as to how you guys know what's being uplinked and moved and renamed, etc ?

Thanks, Steve

The way that the receivers know where to tune when you put in a channel number is by a chart of sorts. The chart contains the channel number, EPG name and the tier level. This information is available to anyone with an FTA receiver. Some folks have developed computer programs that look at the data stream from this chart and compare old to new. And there you have it! The changes for the week. Keep in mind that this does not allow you to see any of the channels. It only allows you to see the data stream your receiver reads to know what to do when you type in a channel number.

see ya

Cool Tony,

I always wondered how JohnH did his magic, but I was afraid to ask.

Yeah, Tony got it right.

BTW: The receiver I use for this is a PCI Card in this computer.

Can do other things like tonight we get the Men's Division 2 Semis on CSN West and Altitude Alternate on DBS. Also on CSTV on DirecTV. Well, I also get the Women's Division 2 Semis from Galaxy 11 Ku satellite using the same receiver.
