DirectTV Receiver/FTA channels

Gotta question guys ??
I have a Panasonic HD TU Direct Tv receiver..can I receive FTA stuff on this ?? or is only gonna work for Direct Tv ??

No you dont need D* service, I have 2 of those receivers and you can receive OTA service free, However you will have to change the settings to do so, follow the proc below:

Go to "Menu"
Enter the "Options" tab
Scroll an enter "Sat/Loc Mode"
- Change the setting from "Satellite tuning mode" to "Local tuning mode"
Exit back to the Main menu
Enter "Setup"
Scroll to and enter "Ant Setup"
-Now you have 2 available options out of 3 to choose from:
1. Auto Scan - (Automatically finds FTA channels) - obviously
2. Add/Delete - (Manually add/delete channels)

Looks like there may be a misunderstanding here...

Are you looking to get FTA (free, unencrypted channels via satellite) channels on your receiver, or OTA (free digital terrestrial antenna) channels?
