Help! with 921 issue when unplugged...

My customer is reporting that the 921 loses it's info if it's been unplugged from the wall. Apparently it's being left without power for quite a while, since an electrician is having to cut the power to work on their house. They lose their favorite settings and if they try to play back a recorded event, the receiver says it doesn't exist. I believe the event timers are wiped away as well. Does this happen when the 921 is unplugged for extended periods of time???? I called dish and they claim it won't do that; that all info is on the hard drive. I'm feeling sorry I ever recommended this receiver to my customer......

Any suggestions???

That's the first I've ever heard of that happening. None of that should be blown away if the 921 is unplugged for a period of time. Now, I could see leaving the 921 plugged in while the house power is being shut off and powered on repeatedly - that would certainly send spikes through the lines that certainly could damage the 921.
