This occurred on my HECD 921 Saturday morning. I turned on my 921 around 8:00am and did a PIP to see if the unit did the auto reset. The pip frame appeared at the upper left corner where I had placed it the night before. Tuner 1 was on a satellite SD channel and I expected tuner 2 to display a channel in the PIP but it remained blank. I then changed the position of the PIP. At that moment a green screen appeared just to the right of where I originally had the PIP window. I decided to swap PIP to see if it would clear. The swap produced a black screen with no audio. The PIP worked with tuner 1. I did some experimenting. I could discuss the actions and results which may make a normal reader become manic. Bottom line, the problem would not clear. Checking the Point Dish feature proved that both tuners were properly receiving all satellites both odd/even channels. A Check Switch didn't help.
A power button reset didn't fix the problem. A card pull reset didn't work. An 3 minute power plug reset didn't work.
What fixed the problem was disconnecting the; power cord, all cable inputs (OTA/satellite 1-2), and the telephone line. Total disconnect time was estimated at about four minutes.
