Where does the 61.5 point? I have some trees and want to get an understanding of the open sky I will need.

I could give you the smart answer - 61.5 :D

But lemme ask, what's your zip code so you can have your azimuth and elevation.
Or if you already got dish just go into the point dish screen, select 61.5 put in your dish and it will give you the numbers

If you aren't, I am. :)

It points at 61.5 degrees West Longitude which is, interestingly, where it gets its name.

I just picked a Dallas zip out of the blue (75201) and got the following:

Azimuth 121°
Elevation 36°

"Due" south-east is 135 degreees so we are looking at east-south-east to south-east at a pretty good elevation in your area. That is if Dallas is where you want the dish installed.

See ya
Tony

Thanks. I am in Dallas.

Dallas has the special locals that require a second dish. At the time they came out and it did not work due to a tree. But the direction he was looking to was South-West and bell I recall he said low. I don't know which Sat he was looking at. Which Sat would be South-West from Dallas?

He would be pointing at 148 to get Dallas Locals.

Actually, the smart@ss asnwer is that it points across the country..... :D

If you are looking for it from your house, it would be SSE - SE from your area.

You should order those locals NOW. :)

When the installer arrives a green Presidental portrait worth more than 61.5 quarters might make the dish twist in the other direction. ;)
