Next Poll could be "Do you like the content offered on the 10 new HD channels? Or "is it worth $5"? Or both.
I won't care after Sunday 'cause the RV does not have an HDTV, the 811 stays at the house. Leaving for a 5 months in Colorado driving tourists on the Jeep trails out of Ouray.

LOL! :hurah:
How about one for:
"I CAN'T receive a signal from 61.5W and I don't have a dish installed for 148W, but I would install for 148W if VOOM was there!"

Well, the 4th one takes care of that. We are just trying to tell dish that they REALLY need to mirror them soon!

Scenarios:
1) I have a working 61.5 E* dish in my system
2) I have good line of sight to 61.5 but no dish
3) I have a working 148 E* dish in my system
4) I have no good line of sight to 61.5 but could use 148 if I had a dish
Answers:
1) Subscribe - All you need is there
2) Install a 61.5 dish and subscribe
3) Mirror Voom on 148 so I don't lose my current programming
4) Mirror Voom on 148 so I can install a dish and subscribe
If you gave up a 148 dish to get 61.5 select #3 to get your 148 channels back.
The mirrors are needed for those who (3) already have a 148 dish working and (4) can more easily get 148 than 61.5.
BTW: Based on the initial stall from the CSRs (saying the channels will not be available for a couple of weeks to existing subs) I see a glimmer of hope that they WILL appear on 148 in the near future. There is some room to wiggle them on the transponders there.

CAN receive a signal from 61.5W and I have a dish installed for it! 27 39.13%
I CAN receive a signal from 61.5W and I DON'T have a dish installed for it 15 21.74%
I CAN'T receive a signal from 61.5W and I have a dish installed for 148W! 22 31.88%

Ok, I gotta ask, question 2, "I CAN receive a signal from 61.5W and I DON'T have a dish installed for it." How in the heck are 21.74% of the people taking the pole getting the signal from 61.5W if they don't have the dish installed for it?

Suppose they had a 61.5 dish in a previous life or they can tell they have an unobstructed view.
I have 61.5 and 148. Seemed like this possibillity was left out of the poll.
I also have these: 119, 110, 121 and 105. Not on the same receiver at the same time, of course.

I stated this and it's my bad, sorry. The wording does suggest that the signal is received without a dish. But I'm still waking up and taking things to literally.

It would seem the poll should more positively reflect the possibillity of having both at the same time.

I live in the Los Angeles area. I think I am going to order the wing dish at 148 and wait. If Dish does not mirror the Voom channels in couple of months, I may use it to order some internationals over there. Now I am glad I did not order the SuperDish-121 for $200 for internationals. I also qualify for free dish at 148 since 3 of the locals are still on 148. My elevation for 61.5 from the point dish screen is 19 degrees, but my immediate neighbor has medium tall trees on the way.

I have 61.5 and 148. Seemed like this possibillity was left out of the poll.I believe the point of the poll was to show E* that they NEED to mirror the Voom channels onto 148. Having a 61.5 dish doesn't support the need.
A simpler way of putting it would be "I need mirrors on 148 to get Voom". But the breakdown explains why people need 148 - either because they don't have LOS to 61.5 and could/do see 148 or they already have content delivered on 148 (and shouldn't need a mini-NASA site to get Voom).

I voted for "I CAN receive a signal from 61.5W and I DON'T have a dish installed for it", because it was the closest.
But what I really wanted to vote for was something along the lines of "I CAN receive a signal from 61.5W and I DON'T have a dish installed for it, but I DO have a dish installed for 148 already!"
At this point, I'm planning on giving them a couple of weeks to mirror VOOM on 148, then if they don't, decide if I want to try to get a third dish and DP+44 installed, or just lose CBDHD-W and repoint the dish to 61.5.

I am in the same position as Sharper.
I *could* move my 148 dish to 61.5 but I simply don't want to lose CBSHD-W.
Ditto that LG811 ... I fought for 2 months to get my waiver for CBSHD-W. No way I'm moving mine off of 148. :nono:

Crazy that these are not on 148. Is there room for them?Yes. As long as they don't need more than ~32 new SD channels at 148 before they can move them off and reclaim the space.

they could not care less ..about some 200 (a bit more a bit less ) taking some poll..
They go and WILL go at their own pace .. using they own strategies..
As noted above - words came right from Charlie's mouth: ""Voom - at 61.5 ONLY for now" ..and then he added: "That may change later .. in the summer.. but right now it's ONLY at 61.5"
See - they are already maybe planning a change (a mirror to 148 or whatever) ..in summer... But they will do it when they are ready to do so, etc...
Some poll... on some board.. - will NOT make them do it ANY faster....
P.S. - 11 Million Plus Subscribers... and it keeps on countin' :D

Press hard for mirrored channels on 148 for the west coast. In our area 61.5 is about 12* elevation and is tough to get.
I thought I head Rainbow would be moved to the 110 slot. Why not simply put all the HD at 110?
I have one dish for 61.5 and one for 148.
Origionally when I first subscribed, Dish only had the 61.5 so I used it. Later they added the 148 and since my OTA KCBS was not reliable I added the 148 disconnecting the 61.5 from my SW64. Well it seems that KCBS has boosted their power and I now get it reliably OTA plus I never watch the extra 14 or so 148 local channels. So I reconnected the 61.5 again. Actually kind of nice to have WCBS in addition to KCBS OTA. Of course the 10 VOOM channels are great.

The FCC has to approve the sale, and then approve the move. And there is some disagreement about whether R-1 would actually work properly at the 110. A 50 degree change in location may screw it up. I'm sure E* is looking into it. But keep in mind they are trying to get more DBS locations available, so they may move it elsewhere.

I still can't figure out why everyone thinks E* will move R-1?
It's very useful right where it's at, providing lots of spotbeams for the east - say, for HD LiL.
E-10 will add bunches of spotbeams to the 110 slot - hopefully for the same reason.

I still can't figure out why everyone thinks E* will move R-1?Scott posted a one mention rumor the day Team Summit opened. No supporting evidence has ever been presented and the only further mentions have been by people discussing Scott's rumor.
There are a lot of assumptions in play to assume that Rainbow1 would be used anywhere other than 61.5. The primary assumption is that the spotbeams would work elsewhere. According to the filings RainbowDBS made to the ITU, the spots on R1 are not steerable. Which would make them practially useless with R1 any location other than 61.5.
JL
I tried an install for 61.5, but no LOS. I could easily get 148 if they mirror the VOOM channels. I have my fingers crossed!!
Any word on the mirroring I cant get 61.5 either. (Wife wont let me burn the neighbors house to the ground) :)
