View Full Version : Where is the MASN Nationals alternate?
DirecTV has had the coverage for over a week now.
MASN = MidAtlantic Sports Network.
All Washington Nationals games are on there.

Is there any chance that DISH will carry MASN? It's very frustrating to live in the DC area and not be able to see the hometown team except on weekends when channel 20 has the games.

I lived (and will be moving back soon) to the hampton roads area in virginia, where for years in the late 90's and early 2000's it was considered one of the possible sites for the move of the expos or another team, but the cities always shot it down before it got very far. i would have killed for a professional team within 4 hours driving distance. i'd go as often as possible. do you go to any of the games? i'd love to be able to see the nationals too as it is the closest thing anyone in virginia has to a home baseball team. i'd want that channel too. it can't hurt to call dish and put in a request. they have a separate app just for customer requests for channels, with channels like YES, ESPNU, Oxygen, etc.

I wrote to ceo@dishnetwork.com and asked them about adding MASN. I just got the standard reply saying they are working to add the channels that customers ask for. Basically it means no and don't bother us with question anymore. I really don't ever expect to see this channel on DISH.
To answer your question about whether I have been to a Nationals game and that answer is yes. I went to the first game at RFK. It was the exhibition game against the Mets. It was great even though it was a frigid day. I haven't been able to fit any games in my schedule yet but may go next week to an afternoon game.
I have Direc Tv and MLB Extra Innings. MASN is on Direc Tv only when there is a Nationals game telecast. The Rest of the Time that channel is off the air. It has not even gone full time as a Regional Sports Network. There have been Very Few MASN Telecasts though. They usually use the Network from the other teams feed.
I have MLB EI with DirecTV and DISH Network and the MASN Nationals is definitely a worthy addition to have. No less important than FSN North Wisconsin.
MASN has plans to go fulltime in March of '06.
Yeah how bout them Brewers!
