They are offering trade ins on the 721 and some other units. You order a 721? Its on their web site.

Wonder whaere all the traded receivers go?

Too little, too late, I'm afraid.

I use to ask that question over the last two years when they would take trade ins on used DirecTv receivers ( only if they had the card with it of coarse ), but was always attacked like a bad habit because everyone just "loves" them so much.

I also use to remark about how when they launched the DD website a few years ago, the owner and his wife use to spam the Newsgroups like crazy. Many long term net folks like myself can attest to that.

But as I said, since I`ve been a subscriber to DBS for many years,
I`ve heard it all about DD, so whatever

I am not giving up any of my receivers for that small amount of money. Even my 7100 is worth more than $70.00 to me.

Your 7100 is worth more on EBay :)

I'd love to get another 501. We have one, and love it! My wife has FINALLY figured out going from the ota stuff to the satellite! Only took her 8 weeks or so. Must be a woman thing as my son's fiance has the same problem with the remotes!

We had a 5000 that the 501 replaced. Anyone know what a 4700 that was upgraded to a 4900 is worth?

Does $70.00 seem fair for one of these upgraded units?

Does anyone know if the 501 is new, or refurbished?

Hi mxz2002, Take a look down in our Buy,Sell and Trade forum, Dish Depot was advertising refurbs down there.
Email Mark at Dish Depot, ask for a 501 price or a refurb price, let him know you read about it here. :)

John,

Actually, I'm looking for a new one. I was just wondering if the $70.00 trade in of my upgraded 4900 was a decent price. When you take that off of the $269 price, $199 isn't too bad for a 501.

I will email him though....

thanks..

I just emailed Mark at dishdepot, and let him know where I saw his upgrade program.... Never would have known about it except for here.

Thanks again!

in addition, i wouldn't upgrade anything for an E* product that's basically vaporware(and it IS vaporware until the day you actually see someone using one!!!)
