Is it possible to get a 942 and not subscribe to the HD package? According to 800.333.DISH it is possible. However, the executive office is saying it's required that if you lease the 942, then you must subscribe to the HD package?
Is there anyone out there that is not subscribing to the HD package?
thanks...

I subscribe to the HD package, and the Voom HD package. However, I cancelled my subscription to the AT60 package.
You have more options if you don't lease. :contract:

So are you saying that you only pay $15 per month to subscribe to HD and voom only? I assumed you purchased your 942?

I purchased the 942, and then I sold the 921 on EBay for $399.
When you don't subscribe to AT60 through AEP, they charge you a $5 fee for accessing the infrastructure.
I subscribe to the HD Pack, Voom Pack, and they got me with locals because I want OTA guide data. I also subscribe ala-carte to the outdoor channel so I can record Inside RC, and I also subscribe to HBO.
However, not subscribing to AT60 and not having a $5 lease fee (since I only have one receiver) saves me $27/mo, or $324 per year. Leasing would not be a good option for me to say the least.
And, yes, I can cancel the HD pack if I want to.
