help. hooked a 721 to a location with one coax and very difficult to add another coax so the dpp44 with a splitter is a major savior. did the software thing and all works well EXCEPT----- I had a 508 there and diplexed to the TV down stairs. Now when I put the diplexer in the 721 does not see the satellite anymore. Has anybody used the dpp44 plus splitter with a diplexer?

Yes, I have. However, I have found that sometimes you have to do the check switch and THEN put the diplexors into the line.

If this is the DPP44, single coax, no diplexor and DPP LNB, this could become a very unstable situation, until DIsh gets the software right. At least once a week I have to power reset my 721 because it has lost at tuner, or ipled just because it feels like it... In these cases I have to redo the check switch to get everything working again, even though the matrix still shows 119 and 110 for both tuner.

Is the Diplexer and the extra piece of cable rated to 2 Ghz?

Is the power inserter running through the Diplexer too?

Yea 2 ghz cable no power inserter also this is a DP twin not a DPP twin

Didnt E specifically say diplexors werent recommended with a 44 switch?

wireless transmitter might be better choice

Wow, I haven't hear the IPL term from anyone in quite some time. Nothing like the old reliable systems that just do their job day in and day out.

Your BOOTstrap did an Initial program load.

Specifically the bootstrap was 24 bytes that loaded in you initial program load.

Still used on the IBM's zSeries machines.

:D

The bootstrap was actually 2 CCWs that read 24 bytes (a PSW and 2 CCWs) and TIC'd to it. The 2 CCWs could load some more, and TIC to them, repeat as needed.

I have actually hand-multipunched a 3-card loader. Load address = 00C. ;) Gawd, I'm old.

And Bob H: The restriction on DPP44/diplexing is that when using them on the same line as the power inserter, and closer to the switch than the inserter, they have to be high-current rated diplexers.
