Sorry if this problem has already been discussed, but I could not find anything on it.

I have had the Dish 921 for 5 months now, and up until last night, everything was working fine. But starting last night, I began noticing some flashes of what look like groups of 4 to 5 small vertical bars of different colors appearing all over the screen. It renders the programs unwatchable. It is happening on both satellite and OTA programs. It does not happen on DVDs, so I know it is not my TV. I changed from DVI to component, and still have the same problem. I have changed resolutions, but it happens on all resolutions. I have rebooted multiple times, and it does not help. I can't understand why something like this would just all of a sudden start happening. Please help. :(

Is it possible for you to add a digital photo shot of the problem?

Reads like RFI or a ground loop problem that has surfaced in your display feeds or should I say video feeds from the output video circuits of the 921 to the video inputs of your monitor. Are the bars static or do they go wavy at times?

Don,

Thanks for the diagnosis. The bars are not static, they come and go.

I also noticed last night that the problem occurs on content that I recorded months ago and have watched multiple times, and I know it did not have the problem before. This tells me that it has nothing to do with the signal coming into the receiver, it is something between the receiver and the monitor.

Also, when the menu is on full screen, it does not do it, but you can still see it doing it in the small preview screen in the upper right-hand corner.

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/texag@sbcglobal.net/album?.dir=/c59c&.src=phIt kind of looks like pixelation but it also looks like data corruption from another source like tuner bleed. Have you done a factory defaults and a long powercord reboot?

Yes, I have done both. No effect.

Sorry, that does not look like RFI to me. Something else seems to be going bad and I don't know what by the pictures you posted.
