My reception keeps dropping.

Hello all, I have 5 receivers and my Hughes EDP keeps losing its reception on sat 101 only. Any suggestion on how to fix with out buying a new receiver would be appreciated.

How old is the IRD? Is the line good? Is that feed from the switch good? Have you tried swapping feeds with a differant IRD, and if so does the problem persist or effect the other IRD? Do you have a multi LNBF dish? What is your signal strength in general? Is it the same for all IRDs?

The Hughes receiver is 3years old, line should be good rewired less then a year, switch is less then a year old and is working fine, have not changed out receivers. yes 3lnb dish, signal strength are in the high 90s to 100, yes the signal is the same for all receivers. like i said this is the only receiver that does this all others work great i find it odd that this receiver only loses signal on sat A but not B, my locals are on sat B and there is no signal drop.

If you are losing signal on only one sat, the switch would be the most likely culprit. Try switching the lines with a differant IRD and see if the problem goes away.

If the signal loss is getting progressively worse it could also be folliage from trees starting to block the signal. Are there any trees in front of the dish?

Is it a tivo? If so, is it somehow stuck on version d software.
