Well,

After a long uphill battle w/ Dish Network, I finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

I recently had Dish Mover service performed whereby Dish provided me w/ a DPP Twin LNB along with a single coax run and separator to my PVR 721. Needless to say, my PVR 721 only received the 119 channels (no 110) -- as it has been reported on this board by many members. However, Dish was adamant that it DID work w/ the new DPP Twin and insisted that the reason it was NOT working is because there was a problem with my setup (cabling or something else). I proved them wrong by having my parents bring over one of their receivers and checking out my setup (mind you, they did not have a DVR, just a plane jane receiver). Anyway, Dish claimed that their engineers were unaware of any problems with the 721 and the DPP Twin.

After multiple phone calls, a swap out of my DPP Twin for another DPP Twin and an email to the executive office (which I had to call finally), I finally got them to concede and provide a DPP 44 switch so that I can get the full functionality of my PVR 721 using one cable (heck, I even tried runnig two cables from the DPP twin to the 721 and it still only gave me the 119 channels). They haven't installed it yet, but I have been scheduled to have it installed shortly.

Now they claim that I'm not going to be charged for the DPP 44 or the install of it (they insisted that they need to do it themselves even though they were ok with me swapping out my own LNB -- go figure). What do you guys think? Should I get this in writing? Has anyone else been burned where they have been promised something for no charge and then end up getting charged anyway?

Also, I read several of you who have the DPP 44 and 721 (and DPP Twin) using the separator to run one coax. How is it? Any more bugs that you have discovered with this setup?

Thanx.

L175 did NOT add support for the DP+Twin. I have tried it several times and several ways, and one or two cables, it doesn't matter, it won't properly see the switch. It is reported as a Generic_41. As for what they promised, get them to send you an e-mail so you have something in writing, and/or verify what's on the workorder BEFORE allowing any work done.
