View Full Version : TWC (SC) really bad move....
The whole Atlanta regional (college baseball) is on ESPNU and the folks in Columbia, SC on TWC cannot receive the channel.... This should help directv gain a few customers..... The regional has been great so far..... The final game tonight should be awesome..... Finally, it paid off for me having directv.....
Also, are you guys still having reception problems on the Columbia Locals (for Columbia folks naturally)..... The WLTX channel has way too much color.....
In case no one know what TWC means... it's Time Waner Cable not The Weather Channel
and yea Time Waner is a terrible cable company

Oh, I know what TWC means in this context. The only thing I want to know is why you put this is a D* forum? This thread is very off topic and should be moved.

Cable varies from location, and IMO, Time Warner Cable in this area kills satellite in almost every category. TW offers programming, lineups and deals DBS can’t touch, especially if you factor in broadband. Which is way after almost 7 years, in the fall I’m going back. My 1 year of Road Runner at $29/month will be up, so I will upgrade to Road Runner Premium and if I have cable TV I’ll save $15. We don’t have ESPNU either but there isn’t much of a market for it up here.
Speaking of channels and coverage, Dish Network does not carry ESPN-U nor College Sports TV and seem to be in no hurry to make any effort to appease its sports subscribers.

I would expect it comes down to dollars & cents. It seems all of the sports folks have become particularly greedy of late and old Charlie is not into unprofitable deals.

I only saw 12 on the TWC web site. DirecTV has 42 different sports channels.
I was interested in your post, as our cable company "Brighthouse", here in Florida doesn't even carry Fox Sports Florida, just Sunshine Network. It is driving people to swith to D* & E* by the numbers. :nono2:

I've mostly just been having problems with WACH FOX 57. The only show I really watch on there is Everybody Loves Raymond and it always has bad sound or lines at the top of the screen. I'm also glad that I've been able to watch the College Baseball Regionals on ESPNU. GO GAMECOCKS!!!!!!!!!

If you take away those 20+ out of market regional sports networks that aren’t meant for your area but DBS sells with heavy league enforced blackouts, it's about even. On the Rochester system we have 17 sports channels. NFL Network, ESPNU and Gol TV being the sports channels TW in my area doesn’t carry that D* does.
Back when Empire was around my area qualified for 4 RSNs. DirecTV gave us all four, TW gave us all four, those that live in Adelphia territory got all four, with Dish we got one, Empire. If you wanted MSG, or FSN NY you have to get the Multi Sport Package and we all know about YES and E*.

I live in Bowman (near Orangeburg) and my Fox 57 and or UPN 47 Or WB 4 (ch 63) don't come in that well. The thing that puzzles me is that the quality of FSN South is about the same...
