View Full Version : Negative Recording Times?
Ok, I have never seen a ZSR, but last night I went to watch my recorded block of Simpsons, Family guy etc from fox and my recording was there, but the times was a negative number and actually had info on the shows that were on hours before my recording was due to start. I have records of -80 and -30 minutes on this time block. I have never seen that or seen it posted here. Maybe I am just not searching with the right keywords.

Sounds like the calm before the storm. Did it actually record and was it viewable? If it is a ZSR, the best thing to do is not try and watch it but delete it. If you haven't, it may be in you best interest to do a Factory Defaults and rebuild from there or you likely to have a series of unpleasant DVR event problems.
All the info is for the previous 3 or 4 hours of shows, but the recordings are actually the shows I DVR's (simpsons, family guy etc). The timer also starts at -80 and counts up to 0.
Edit:
This is the DVR listing:
Show Time
King of the hill -3
Mutant X -80
King of the hill -30
Actual shows
end of malcom -3
Simpsons/simpsons/FG/American Dad -80
Fox news -30
The other strange thing I just noticed was malcom ends a half hour before simpsons starts, king of the hill is between the end of malcom and beginning of simpsons.
Ok strange, I just realized that the times on -80 don't add up to the 120 minutes that should be there. I am gonna watch the timer and see if it slows or stops for a while during play back.

I had some of those negative time shows before the last software update. I deleted them with no problems. I don't think it is related to the ZSR issue. I'm guessing it has something to do with the way the receiver stores the program start-stop time information.
Every time I had a negative time, the total recording time was the sum of all the times. (i.e. -3 + 60 + 3 = 60 min recording.)

Getting a "sub-list" of programs on one recorded event happens when you set-up one timer to record multiple programs off the same channel. This could be avoided by setting up seperate timers for every show, even though they are back-to-back on the same channel. (just be sure to set the "pads" to 0 both before and after).
The negitive numbers issue seems to be related to the sub-list issue (though it does not happen every time you get a sub-list).
