I bought some used equipment to install. Dish 500 satellite dish and DP301 receiver.
I've hooked everything up, been trying to aim dish but with little success.
I get the 110 satellite aimed great ( strength 105 ) but can not get 119 at all.
Tried adjusting everything but no success.

Is the LNB bad ? Any suggestions?

Joe,

Have you set the skew correctly for your location? SKEW is something that you need to set FIRST (and don't change it). Then make sure that your dish is mounted perfectly plumb. Set the elevation and then adjust the azimuth. If you can't get both the 119 and 110 satellites you need to change the elevation slightly and then try to get a signal again. If you still can't get a signal from the 119 satellite you need to attach the cable from the 119 LNB directly to the receiver and make sure that you can get a signal. Make sure that nothing is blocking the path to the satellite (like trees, buildings or overhangs).

Good luck!

What type of LNB is it? DP Twin, 500 Twin, 2 duals and an SW21? Cover the 110 side, and if it is still showing signal, your dish is too high, and needs to be dropped and re aligned. Cover the 110 side with something and go for the 119.

Yup - sounds like you're 9 degrees off. As Larry says - cover the 110 eye with foil, and bring in 119.

I have a Dish Pro Quad LNB connected directly to the receiver.
