Can you supply simple instructions how to watch one show, place it on pause, watch another channel, place it on pause and go back and watch the first one from where it was paused and then go back to the second? I can't seem to do it. It always goes back to the current place on what was previously paused and all material in between is lost. Help!

You can only do this when using PIP.

When I swap between two programs, the 942 goes live, but it doesn't lose what's been buffered. I can rewind all the way back through whatever's in the buffer.

Are you sure you're in Single mode?

I'm pretty sure he's indicating that after changing the channel, that all the buffer is gone for the previous channel---normal / expected behavior.

Record both of the programs vs. watching only live, then you can swith between them without program loss. If something gets messed up, you can always start over and fast forward to where you should be.

I think he was just asking how to keep the 2nd tuner on pause while swapping while avoiding having it go into live mode.
