View Full Version : BUG REPORT L226: Browse ignores channel order preference

Severity: MINOR

The order the channels are displayed in the guide vs. onscreen browsing is inconsistent.

The channel order setting seems to be ignored for Browsing; the down button always descends the channel list (ie. goes to the next smaller numbered channel in the list).

This inconsistency is only noticable when Channel Order is set to Ascending, making that setting very annoying when going back and forth between browsing and the guide.

Contacted Dish Technical Support to report : NO

Do you have a Dish receiver that doesn't do this? I'm pretty sure my 6000 and 4900 both suffered from the same inconsistancy.

Yeep..me think this is standard dish programing logic

I have a 6000, but don't recall this. The guide was so slow on the older units, I rarely used it. I hated the "Please cancel or wait" for just about everything.

Either way, its a pretty lame inconsistency - perhaps it can be resolved?

At most this would be a wish list item. All my other past receivers worked this way. I don't think this is in the bug category.

I re-read the manual regarding this, and it does indeed state that this setting affects the Guide, and has no mention of browse order. So, I will agree that this should be classified as a wish-list item.
