522 can you extend a recording?

Say my 522 has started recording a show that started 10 minutes late and I know it. Is there any way to tell the 522 to extend the recording by 10 minutes after it has already started recording?

Just tested that scenario with in-progress recording and, yes, there is. You just have to extend the end time for the timer. To do that, press DVR twice, select Timers, highlight the currently recording timer, press Select, select Options, navigate to End Late, change it to whatever you want, and select Done on every screen until you get back to live TV.

Not much. And then you also end up having to keep track of two different recordings. Changing the timer end time sounds much simpler overall.
