Firefly, a science fiction series that was canceled midway through its first season on Fox, has found a new home on the Sci Fi Channel. All existing episodes will air this summer, though there is no word on a second season.

Good move on their part, especially with the movie opening up just about when this run will end (or perhaps even earlier as they are talking about moving the movie opening up now).

This puts four great shows back to back on fridays. Firefly, both Stargates and Battlestar Galactica. Firefly starts on July 22, with the other shows having their premieres the previous week.

Great to see it back! Who knows maybe between this and the movie they will decide to do a second season on Sci-Fi or somewhere. Now if they could just resurrect John Doe, the show that shared a night with Firefly and Dark Angel, another FOX casualty TV would be that much better! :D

That's cool - maybe it'll get an audience now. Although the Sci-fi picture won't ever be as good as my DVDs of it. :)

I'm looking forward to the theater movie at the end of this summer.

Will Sci-Fi do a better job of playing the episodes in order than Fox did?

How could they not? The ONLY thing that Fox did right when showing the episodes was to show them in their original aspect ratio. They screwed up everything else about them.
