I recently moved to an area that has local channels that can only be picked up using a triple LNB dish. Right now, all I have is a dual LNB dish. I have one TIVO DVR dual tuner in my den and two standard receivers in my kitchen and bedroom. My question is whether I can just simply purchase a triple LNB dish and hook it up to my receivers or must I buy a different type of TIVO receiver to make the triple LNB work fully? My main concern is whether you have to have a special TIVO receiver to utlilize the 3 different signals coming into through the triple LNB dish? Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

ALL Tivos can pick up the 119 sat for locals or spanish. You can call D* and ask for a free local channel upgrade, which the installer brings the new dish and hooks it up. Does require a commitment of 1 year. I have a triple sat dish on all 3 of my Tivos and it works just fine.

If you have a two LNB dish, as opposed to a two output single LNB dish, you already are equipped to get locals from the 119 satellite. If there are two LNBs on the arm, with a space about the width of a LNB between them, you have a dish that can see the 101 and the 119 sats. It should either have a multiswitch located somewhere either on the back of the dish or off of it, or an integrated multiswitch the LNBs plug into. You may need to reaim the dish for the 119 sat, however.
