Hi I just shipped a receiver from Seattle area (98023) to Phila, PA (19144) using USPS( united states postal service) & I was told the cheapest method cost me $21.34
It was packed in the original box & weighted 13# & 6.6 oz. & was shipped parcel post.
Does this sound right?
What is the cheapet way to ship a receiver?
Thanks
Jordan
I use FedEx Ground.
If it was a residential delivery fedex.com says it would be $13.97 (that's with $200 insurance), with delivery in 5 business days.
I always thought that UPS might be just a bit cheaper, but FedEx is on my way home, it would cost me more to drive to UPS than what I might save.

I use UPS (United Parcel Service). It has $100 insurance included. USPS (United States Postal Service) SUCKS!!! They lose your packages and charge more. You have to pay extra for tracking, insurance, etc. I have a lot of bad luck with them.
I prefer UPS over FedEx, but only because my company has daily UPS pickups that I can just toss my package into after printing the label on line. Every time I've priced a package to ship ground between the the three services, FedEx, UPS, and USPS, the two private companies are always close to each other while USPS is significantly more for the exact same service. The only exception to this is sending care packages to my brother in Iraq. USPS flat rate boxes beat everything else.
FedEx also included $100 insurance, any more than that is extra, as with UPS.
I would go to both websites and compare to see which you think is best, keeping in mind convenience when dropping your shipments off.
I'm shipping a 38# 36x24x12 shipment to South Carolina today, FedEx Ground saved the buyer a little over a dollar, compared to UPS Ground. Not a big deal either way, but as I said, FedEx is more convenient for me.

When shipping receivers I use the original manufacturer's box that I received them in or something similar to package them up and wrap them in the same type of plastic that I received from Dish with the little water absorbtion silicon packs that they ship them with. I dont have many problems shipping them when doing this.
