I bet we'll know by the 4th of July.

I really wish Sky Angel would have added DIY instead of HGTV since I already have HGTV with my Dish Top 120 package (Fox News is the other station I already have). I liked the addition of Hallmark and Hallmark Movies since I do not have these channels with Dish.
I'm curious as to how many Sky Angel subscribers also have Dish programming. Maybe the numbers are low (and therefore would only cause a few subscribers to cancel due to repeat channels) or maybe they hope these changes will increase subscribers who don't already have cable or satellite or those who are ready to switch to a lower priced option with some favorite general interest channels.
I wish that Sky Angel could somehow add more TV channels without removing any more since it looks like a monthly price increase is planned. Until more space is available I do believe that Angel 2 will combine with another channel (like Cornerstone) besides CTN-Florida to make room for HGTV.
I also wonder why they haven't changed the EPG for the new channels. Maybe they are waiting until they get enough feedback from these most recent changes or are waiting to send a letter to current subscribers about the new channels along with a price increase.

Looks like that $12 Sky Angel package is becoming a better and better value. Have these channels becme included for those that have the lifetime subscription? Could this be our future cheap package alternative for a selection of channels similar to Dish Pix we had a while back (10 channels for $10 later raised to $15) for those on a budget?
Once SA added Fox and Hallmark, my parents immediately asked me to install a dish for SA and another for the Dish Network local offerings.
This has reduced their cable bill from $60 to $20, per month, which has made them quite happy!

To be honest, these channel additions are making me reconsider becoming a rep for SA. I had initially requested info back when the independent rep program began, but let it drop.
It seems as if SA has changed their focus to making their service more marketable and useful to a mainstream audience. I am still not completely sold on Fox News being added, but I agree that it was requested and is a very popular channel, even if it's not 100 percent family friendly.
I'll second the request for DIY rather than HGTV. Perhaps even a split feed would have been nice; take HGTV from 6a-6p and DIY 6p-6a. They are both Scripps networks, after all.

Surely they are not that short on bandwidth to have to split the channel (just like they had to do in the past with IFC). Why doesn't Dish put that 157 slot to good use and lease that to Sky Angel as well since they could use it for the west coast?

There are currently no satellites at 157. E*4 is on its way to 61.5.
Also currently there is no additional room at Sky Angel. For every channel added, another one has to be dropped.
I am concerned that they are dropping religious channels then at the same time preventing Dish from adding them.
See ya

If you see this as the case, then you should email Sky Angel and let them know your concerns.
