Nets Sneak Fall Lineups on DirecTV

Users of DirecTV will get an early look at the broadcast networks' new shows for fall, thanks to an arrangement between the nets and satellite service.

Starting in August, the six networks, along with HBO and Showtime, will offer up a half-hour program each week featuring highlights from their fall schedules. The networks can do whatever they want with the shows, which will be placed on one of service's open channels or downloaded directly into integrated DirecTV-TiVo boxes.

Yes, from the article:

DirecTV had originally intended only for the 2 million or so subscribers who have TiVo service integrated into their set-top boxes. Eventually, however, the company decided to make the clip packages available to all subscribers, which number about 14 million.

I assume they will use a "new" channel for this.

FOX might as well be running one of these with every commercial break now with the constant promos of Prison Break/Reunion/Bones. I've got a feeling this will backfire for FOX since its still another 2 1/2 months away from their fall shows, and Im already tired of hearing about the shows. 2 1/2 months from now..I dont even think Im going to care enough to want to watch any of them.
