Does anyone know at what angle the signal comes in to the satellite at in NC??? I was just curious about how high in the sky it is..

Just go into the menu to system setup. Enter your zip code and it will provide the coordinates.

Don't forget to add about 22 degrees to that figure... the LNB on any dbs dish is on an offset.

Go here http://www.rca.com/directv/zip_code_selection and enter your zipcode and the dish type you have. That 22 degree number above is really the difference between the angle to the sat and where the dish looks like it's pointing. Use the elevation number directly as listed.

Mine came up correct for my area. I did not have to add 22° to it.

What I understand him to say is he wants to know where to look to "see" where the satellite signal is coming from. I think he want to perform a DIY site survey. If I am understanding him right, wouldn't he want to add the 22 degrees to make sure he has good line of sight? If he just wants to know where to aim the dish, then the basic elevation figure you can get from the receiver, as well as many other sources, is what he should use.

No, the angle given on the website and on the receiver is the actual angle toward the satellite. What we are saying is that because of the offset arm on the dish, it will look like it is pointing lower.
