If Sky Angel adds more mainstream channels that DISH has, can they go into a Daystar war again?

E* can always start a losing battle by trying to violate their agreement with SkyAngel. :D

Apparently SkyAngel is not as restricted as we once thought they were. Since E* does all the physical work to get SA's channels uplinked, they certainly know what is going on. Either there is nothing preventing SkyAngel from doing what they are doing (likely), or E* is "doing what they are told" in fear that they will be sued again (unlikely).

BTW: I remain disappointed in the fact that these new channels are replacing existing SkyAngel channels. When they announced the future availability of 'mainstream' channels I expected that they would be actually provided by E* on a third transponder under some cooperative agreement.

Still wondering which ministry will be leaving so HGTV will be able to grace the system.

Do you really think this will hurt Dish Network's bottom line that much at all?

Do you really think this will hurt Dish Network's bottom line that much at all?No. Even if all SkyAngel's subscribers left dish, E* wouldn't be hurting.

Besides, SkyAngel using E*'s receivers probably brings E* more subscribers than they would take away by having a few secular channels. This does hurt E* in that their agreement apparently still bans E* from adding religious channels to the E* system ... D* can add all they like. But I do not believe SA having a few general channels will hurt E* at any level worth noting.
