So, here is the question...
If offerred AND carried by the DBS providers, would you subscribe to a premium movie channel that shows nothing by movies in their original aspect ratio (http://www.widescreen.org/) rather than the pan-and-scan that they show now?
probably not part of the thread but if it counts, I would not subscribe to any premium movie channel regardless of what they show. DVDs will always be better for me

Depends on what movies they show. The problem with the premium services now is that I would have to subscribe to two or three of them to see all the movies I want to, even though it's only a few movies. That is why PPV is a better option for me cost wise, even if the movies are not usually in widescreen.

Only if it was in HD.

Since this is an SD forum. I'm going to assume you mean SD. So, my answer is no.
What your asking for is already available in HD (some some are still edited - notabely HBO).
There's nothing to stop a person with an SD TV from getting an HD box and subbing the HD channels.

Anyone know how many SD subs DirceTV has and how many HD subs? Being that I'm still a SD sub, the more SD content they add, the better. I still don't understand why HBO, Showtime... don't make one of their many channels a widescreen only channel.
