You"ve heard about Dr. Kevokian's new assisted suicide machine? They tie you down, in front of the TV and turn on the World Cup, until you are bored to death!

Lighten up. It's only a game. (And there's nothing wrong with being gay, so it doesn't really matter, does it?)

He didn't specify, btw, what sport World Cup was..

for all we know.. it could have been World Cup of Chess he was refering about :)

World Cup Soccer however - would be more than 25 bucks though.. if pay for the whole event.. (i believe)

I keep beating the horse... but I've yet to see a good argument for why I should want the NFL Network so badly.

We have NBATV, and I find it a waste of time except for the times when they show a game sometimes during the season. IF that is what NFL Network is about, count me off the bandwagon.

I don't care about pre-season games in any sport, so carrying them isn't a big thing... and during the regular season I usually see the games I want for free OTA in HD or in HD on ESPN.

Every once in a while I wish I could have the Sunday Ticket for out-of-market games that are competitive when I'm watching a blowout... but since Dish can't have that right now... I live just fine without it.

I can't imagine NFL Network carrying any "exclusive" games in the near future and not letting them be available OTA... so unless I'm missing the greatness... to use Charlie's words... what is the compelling content on NFL Network?

Well.. - as long as that horse is Dead... regardless of how much you ll keep on beating it, won't revive 'er.. won't change the fact that it is deceased :D

That is exactly what the NFL Network is all about.

I had Directv for 1 year last year and recently switched back to Dish (previous Dish customer from 99-04) and I can honestly say that IMO, the NFL Network is nothing more than a niche sports channel with a limited audience. The only time they had anything worth watching occasionally was when they carried preseason games, otherwise they mostly show football talk shows or old game films (boring!).

If Dish does add it, it should only be added to the Sports Pack as I know that I certainly would not want my bill to increase to pay for this channel and I think many other Dish subs would agree.

Yes, but you have to remember, that Fox Soccer channel used to be Fox Sports World and carried more than just soccer.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against the NFL Network, I just feel that it belongs in AT180 (or the Sports Pack) along with Fox Soccer Channel and NBA TV.

As long as the NFL Network does not carry any live regular season games it will stay low on my E* sports wish list (behind CSTV, ESPN-U, YES, and FSW2 on CONUS).

Never heard of Yes or CSTV. More game shows?
