I have a 522 connected to a super dish. I started having problems recently and tried a switch check and found that the 110 sat has a red X (no even feed). The 105 and 119 are green for sat inputs 1 and 2. I finally got thru to adv tech support, and they told me it was a grounding issue. The tech installer ground my DP34 switch with a grounding rod in the ground instead of connecting to my house common ground. The adv tech support rep told me that was the problem with my 522. I changed the ground to use the house common, and the problem disappeared for 2 days. Now it's back! I originally used 15-amp house wiring for the ground wire and thought it might be too small to make solid contact with my clamps, so I replaced it today with 10 gauge copper wire and bought a new brass/copper grounding clamp and connected it to my cold water pipes in my attic.
I have two 522 units (they sent me a replacement), and they both do the same thing with red X's on the 110 sat on inputs 1 and 2. When I take either unit downstairs and connect them in where my 921 is connected, they still have the red X syndrome for the 110 on both inputs. My 921, however does not have this problem. The 921 switch tests without any red X's on any of the 3 sats.
HELP!!!
